We are extremely fortunate at Albrighton Primary School to have our own outdoor swimming pool. Heated to a comfortable temperature, the pool measures 15m long by 7m wide and is open during the warmer months (typically after Easter until the end of the Summer Holidays).
Having a pool onsite means we can provide everyone from Year 2 to Year 6 with weekly swimming lessons, every year – most school only provide lessons to just one year group per year.
All swimming sessions are supervised by qualified lifeguards and swim teachers, thanks to volunteers from Albrighton Swimming Club.
Your child’s swimming session will be communicated to you via the class pages, and weekly newsletter. On swimming days, please make sure you child brings in their swimming kit (trunks or shorts for boys, one-piece costume for girls, goggles and a towel) with all earrings and jewellery removed. Children will change in the poolside changing rooms before and after their lesson.
Albrighton Swimming Club
The swimming pool is also a fantastic community resource, and it is open to the public outside of school hours where it is run by a group of volunteers from Albrighton & District Swimming Club.

Swimming Pool Lottery
Having a pool is expensive. Since the local authority withdrew funding support for the pool in 2014, the maintenance, repair, upkeep and management costs are now the responsibility of the school. Keeping the pool open is only made possible with the combined support of our school, Albrighton Swimming Club, The Friends of Albrighton Swimming Pool Lottery and generous donations from local parish councils and local businesses. It really is a fantastic community effort that keeps this community resource open!
Most of this funding comes from the Swimming Pool Lottery, established by the Friends of Albrighton Swimming Pool in 2017. By buying tickets for the monthly draw, you are helping to raise vital funds that ensure we can continue to open this amazing facility for school, and the local community. Each ticket costs £5 per month, providing the pool with a regular source of income. A draw takes place by the last Wednesday of each month, where there is approximately a 1 in 20 chance of winning a prize.
If you would like to support our swimming pool by making a one-off donation or entering the monthly lottery, then please register and complete an application form on – Friends of Albrighton Swimming Pool’s Website
Thank you to each and everyone of you that is able to support our swimming pool!
