Year 1 Phonics
The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check is designed to assess children’s phonics knowledge, which helps them to read familiar and unfamiliar words. Children who do not pass the check in Year 1 have to resit the test in Year 2.

KS1 Results (Year 2)
Children no longer have to sit formal assessments, as the statutory KS1 tests have now been scrapped by the government. Data from assessments, including optional KS1 SATs, informs teacher judgements which are reported at the end of Year 2.

Children in Year 4 are required to complete a statutory assessment that tests their knowledge of multiplication times tables facts.

KS2 Results (Year 6)
Children in Year 6 are required to complete SATs assessments in reading, maths and grammar & punctuation. Teacher assessments are also given in writing.
For SATs assessments, children are awarded a ‘scaled score’, where 100 or above represents ‘working at the expected standard’ and a score of 110 or above represents ‘a high level of attainment (or greater depth)’.
