Safeguarding

At Albrighton Primary School, we believe that:

  • All children have the right to protection from all types of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  • Everyone has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, to keep them safe and to practice in a way that protects them.

Our statutory duties and supporting guidance are set out in The Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2024, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.

Adhering to this guidance, we follow Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership (SSCP) multi-agency procedures.

Please read our – Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy 2024-2025

Reporting A Concern

Follow the guidance on Shropshire’s Safeguarding Website

If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm, or in need of emergency medical attention, call the emergency services on 999.

If you think a child is being harmed, or at risk of being harmed, you must contact Shropshire’s First Point of Contact (FPOC) on 0345 678 9021 to share you concerns.

Alternatively, you can report your concerns online via the NSPCC Website

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

The DSL at Albrighton is the Headteacher, Karen Tearle, supported by several Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) across school.  The DSL takes the lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection in our school.  Should you have a concern about a child from Albrighton Primary School, please speak to a member of staff immediately.  All staff are trained to deal with safeguarding issues, and will report your concern to the DSL.
